Can dogs eat croissants?

Not long after we started our journey together, our boy and his dog arrived. In fact, they arrived at our house the same day. He was there to drop off his dog, and brought a bag full of stuff for me. He was surprised to see us, because I didn't call to see him before I went to a friend's house and didn't get to see him until after he arrived at our house. When I called him later that day to see if we could stay there longer than planned, he asked me, "Why didn't you call to see me? You could have come get me." I apologized, and told him we had just come from another place. His eyes got big and he asked me, "Why did you and your dog come here?"

To make a long story short, it didn't work out, and he and his dog came to stay with us. I didn't know he and his dog got here the same day. Can dogs eat croissants?

I guess I didn't think it through well. I don't know if we could get out of his dog staying here, but we could go to a different place. I'd ask my parents to watch him until we could find a home for him. He's only one year old, so he can get a lot of leash training help.

I had a dog when I was little and my sister's dog ate croissants that were left in the kitchen. They were all fine. I thought he was a picky eater but he wasn't. It was his first experience with food I think. I never had any problems with it, though. Maybe they're too expensive.

Croissants are expensive! I have a couple friends who love them and have an abundance of them because they are good friends. I don't know if my friend's dog can chew the top off one, but mine could not. I would probably not be so worried about it if he had some experience eating baked goods.

I would love to have that experience too! We went camping once when I was young and brought a bread package for my brother. He brought it home and we never heard from it again. I would be sad too if we ran out of baked goods on a camping trip.

Our neighbors have a dog named Lucy. She's super spoiled and gets to eat anything she wants. That dog is a sweetie though.

He's not bad...he just needs some training. He does fine when he's at our house. He doesn't get much treats, he only gets bones and he's usually hungry when I get him. When we're at my parents' place, he gets an old fashioned biscuit with a dab of peanut butter. We don't get to go to any pet stores anymore, though.

Aww I am having a girl, but I am a bit obsessed with boys. Awww... I like the girls! We'll have to get your baby girl a dog when she's a little older.

I am just in total awe of all of these ideas, some of them are really amazing, they all sound wonderful, and I want to go to a pet store just so I can look around and see what they have! The best idea I've heard so far would be the "soup plate," I thought they only made soup plates for soup, and they were for soup bowls so we would see what kind of soup it was. Now I'm wondering if they have made a dog-specific version! Great ideas everyone!

Oh okay, I wasn't worried I would get into trouble if I posted this, just thought I'd ask in case I couldn't post it. I always want a boy, but I also want to do the whole family thing. If I did choose to have a boy, I would want a male boxer. I have a friend who has 3 that her parents have bred. She was just really lucky in that they all are extremely good with children, they are all very sweet, so I think she just has some really good luck. I'll go to the link you gave to see what they have for males. I just thought it'd be a good idea to ask before I found out!

This topic has only been started today so if you have a suggestion please do not respond to this thread.

I think it's really nice that everyone has thought of these things, I love reading them all. My first suggestion is the soup plates I posted above, and if you've seen them on the site, if you click on the photo of the ones I mentioned they will go to the website where they can be purchased, so be sure to stop by the link, and let me know what you think and if you would like more suggestions, or you have found a good place to get them, let me know, it's fine to post a different photo if you want to, it's really fun to see what everyone else has found. I'm really happy with mine and I have the perfect gift for someone too!

I do agree with some of the comments, I got a few of the same suggestions for the boys' plate and I'd say my favorite has to be the one where the dog pees in a flower pot. LOL, I'll bet that would come in really handy!! For a girls' plate I would say the one of the kids playing on the slide would make a nice plate for a baby girl. I personally thought the one with the puppies would be a really nice plate for a little boy, though.

Thanks for all the suggestions, and the links, they're all very helpful!
