Do dogs like to be trned?

I bought a purebred hound mix as a pet and a friend suggested it could be taught a few basic commands like sit, stay and heel. I found out that the dogs are a lot like cats in that they don't like being told what to do. They want you to make the rules and if you make them wrong, you are in for a fight. They will try to run away, fight you, or bite you until they can't and then they will submit. I am just curious if there is any way to help these dogs to understand that there are times when you have to follow the rules and it's not always a good thing to do.

They need to be shown the rule is for their benefit. I like a good, hard, no nonsense trning. I trn both dogs and puppies every day with a little correction to make it stick and to keep them safe. For a while my first pup would not sit and he was afrd of my friend who had a big dog. My friend told me she would not touch my pup unless he was on the floor. I would not have her touch him until he was on the floor. She was afrd she would hurt him and then I told her she had no choice but to obey or I would make her. I put him on the floor and he went right up to her. He went in for a pet and she petted him with a towel and let him lick her hand. I told her to give him time to relax and she was okay. I had trned my other dog on the floor too. When I took them to the vet, the vet sd, "How does he like being in the crate?" I sd, "He loves it and he sleeps there at night." She sd, "If he is good, then I have to tell you there is one thing you have to do. Make sure you always put him on his blanket on the floor." The next day she called and sd she wanted to make sure he was on the floor for a pet. When she did, he was fine and she was too.

If they have a dominant personality, a dog that does not obey is called a dominant. You are the boss, the authority figure. A dog that obeys is called a submissive.

My dogs are both submissive. This is what I want, I want a dog that does what I tell them. I tell my dog to go, he does. I tell him to sit and he sits. I tell him to lie down, he lies down. He lies down, stays and gets my attention. He stays, I take his picture. He goes for a walk, he is on the leash. When I tell him to heel he gets on the leash. He goes for a run, he is on the leash. My dog follows my commands and obeys me. I would have my dog sit before I put food on the floor, then he will eat. I will take him to my friend's house, he will sit. I will leave my friend's house, he will stay. I take him to the park, he stays. He obeys me, he goes where I tell him to go, he goes when I tell him to.

I was born in the USA but my parents were from Korea, I grew up speaking English, so I feel that I know a lot of Korean. But I still know very little.

For instance, I was walking home and a woman came up to me and sd, "I am so sorry, please forgive me." I had no idea what she was saying and just kept walking. Another woman came up and sd, "I am so sorry, please forgive me." I had no idea what she was saying and just kept walking. Another woman came up and sd, "I am so sorry, please forgive me."
